Description
The bergamot tree is a member of the citrus family and grows to approximately 4 feet in height. Bergamot is named for the city of Bergamo in Italy. The fruit is yellow in color and has a pear-like shape. The shape and look of the fruit are reminiscent of both an orange and a lemon hybrid. The scent of the bergamot oil is popular due to its citrusy undertones. The perfume industry often includes bergamot in perfumes and fragrances because of its unique blend of citrus, spice, and floral. It has a heady fragrance that ranks between a medium and top note, bringing all of the aromas together in a balanced and pleasant fragrance.
